Ok, so I noticed there were maggots in the guinea pig cage, and I thought ‘Ok, no big deal, it won’t happen again, we’ve just been sooo busy, but next time we’ll clean it sooner’ So I clean it out and take the garbage upstairs, except that it thunderstorming outside, and lightning is almost touching the trees. So I set it in the garage. Big mistake. The maggots ate their way out. So I spent three hours cleaning up maggots. But the flies are back as soon as I cleaned out the cage. So I need help. What do I do that won’t hurt my piggy but will kill those maggots?

Hmmm, if you’re having such a problem, you’ll need to clean it out and try and prevent the flies from getting in.

Maybe put a fly trap of some sort near the cage?

Or visit your pet store and see why the cage is being targeted.

We’ve put fly paper up now, I checked piggy for infection. None so far, thank goodness. We are hanging up a fly trap outside as well, hopefully with both it will reduce the amount of flies. Any more advice?

Wow, fly paper. Nice idea.

No other ideas for now. Let me know how that goes though.
