MAGGOTS

I have had birds for 3 years and keep them clean all the time. For the very first time we woke up this morning and had maggots on the ceiling and walls. There were none in the bird cages or their food. They started working on my house and the smoke alarms kept going off so we had to remove them and there are open spaces where they cut holes in the sheetrock to put in new plug ins in the walls. Have they created this problem. I am calling them in the morning and they better come and check my attic and finish their job. Help
