I can’t believe this! How disgusting! I live on a military base in GA and this is the third time I’ve had to battle maggots here in my house. It’s not ehough that I have numerous things to stress about and worry myself sick over…but now this!? AGAIN!? So I wake up this morning oblivious to the maddness unfolding within the walls of my home. I’m very weak and sickly and my muscles burn all the time like I just got done running a darn marathon…so just the smallest tasks leave me in pain and exhausted.

Anywhoo,
As I woke, my dog (Bandit) was eating something. *Sigh* What could he be eating now? I looked at him and told him to “Spit it out” and when he did, it looked familliar. A MAGGOT!? CRAP! I carefully and reluctently made my way over the the light switch and flicked it on. And there, on the floor, was a sea of maggots! I almost threw up and started to cry.

They were in the kitchen, the living room, in the dining room… even now…as I write this I have to step away from the keyboard to cautiously pick them up. I’ve talked to the front office here on base…and recieved NO HELP. These ppl won’t even help me change a light bulb. I called the health department because aside from the maggots, roaches and most recently TOADS (Yes yes.. I said toads.) I also have a problem with black mold here in my gear room. But since it’s on base, they can’t help.

I’m so fed up and disgusted with this place. They charge an absurd amount of monies for a peice of crud they call a “House” and you never recieve any maitnence help. Now I have to worry about this!? UGH! I’ve been picking them up and putting them in a jar with a lid and put some water in it to attempt to dround them. It seems to be working so far…but I keep finding more. I have no idea where they are comming from. The last time I found them in my house, they were comming inside from the backyard from the trash cans. The tops of the cans have hols chewed in them from squirrels and possibly coons, and the back yard was Overrun with the nasty little creatures of disgustingness…

I wish I didn’t have to deal with this. I’m so tired and I’m hurting. All I wanna do is relax…But I’m freaked out and it feels like they’re crawling all over me. GROSS!

Thank you for responding so quickly. I tried to respond 3 days ago, and wrote a nice little paragraph but had to go to the store and came back to see it timed out. Then I had trouble logging in. LOL.. just my luck. I’ve noticed that not alot of ppl respond back to you. How rude…

So… The Maggot-Mania…I finally got rid of them. I used a helicopter lubricant, mixed with hot water in a jar with a lid, and washed every floor in this place with bleach water. One thing I hate and love about this house is there is absolutly NO CARPETS in this here. Think about how much worse it would of been with carpets! UGH I don’t even want to think about it!!! But it would be nice to wake up in the morning to nice, plush, soft carpets under my toes instead of a cold, unforgiving floor. *BURRRR*

Anywhoo,
I get them about once a month. I’m lucky if I don’t get them. It’s just hard not to on this base. The conditions are perfect for them with the humidity and unlocked garbge containers. Makes me sick. I hate bugs in my house. I HATE BUGS! Meh, what are ya gunna do ya know?! Can’t beat them all. I’ve noticed around 5 minutes ago the Terminex guys next door, and all I can think is, “Oh great! They’re spraying their house and now they’re all going to run over here!” So I gotta beat them little buggers down before they migrate over here. I’ll lose my mind if they do! That’s why later on today I’m going to Wally-World and picking up some Extra Strength Home Defense spray and spraying down the outside and inside. Since it’s safe for animals. I won’t use anything that will harm animals or the enviroment.

Well James I’m writing a novel here. So I’ll be on my way. Just count on me writing in again with other methods that I’ve used since this is a reoccouring issue here at my home.

^.^ We’ll be speaking again.

Feel free to write as much as you like, it’s REALLY interesting :-)

I do wish more people wrote down about their experiences, because before the site was set up here, there were around 400 stories that both amazed and TOTALLY grossed me out…

Come back as often as you like, and GOOD LUCK!

Oh rest assured I will. It’s ridiculous how many times I battle these disgusting, repulsive and reclusive little buggers. You’d think for the monies I pay here they’d do something about these problems. But NOOOOO… *Pish Posh* That’s what I have to say to them. Plus I’d hate to take them away from their “hard days at work”, with their long hours of myspace and Pocket tanks to assist me in my horrendous and time consuming tasks. ^.^
